LUIGI CARRIERO
CONTEMPORARY ART
About
Luigi Carriero, born 1981, lives and works in his hometown of Gallipoli (Lecce).
Many of his paintings feature women and animals expressing his love for life with an introspective yet playful style. He credits elements of his artistic aesthetic to his profound passion for music, cinema, and visual art.

His creation process is deeply personal, rooted in the concepts of chance, pareidolia and subtraction. Starting with a random sketch on canvas, he searches for shapes and then modifies and subtracts lines to preserve only what is essential to the final outcome. This approach invites the viewer to engage with shapes and colors in a playful manner.

To date, his work has been reviewed by international publications including Harper’s Bazaar and AF Magazine and has been featured as albums' cover on Spotify and SoundCloud.
Painting is a pursuit
“Painting is an engaging pursuit and an exciting game to play because it allows you to trace your journey and set the future path as you like and want it.
Painting is also an extraordinary act of love, as it enables you to create a unique and unrepeatable image to share with others.”
